Michelle Archer’s work as a Vermont State Police Officer has made waves across the nation. In December, Michelle leapt into action to save an 8-year-old girl from a freezing pond. She put her life on the line to swim through the icy water, bringing the girl to the banks of the pond safely. The story was covered widely across the state, and nationally by CNN, and has led to her nomination for the prestigious International Association of Chiefs of Police Trooper of the Year award, for which she is now a finalist. To her, this brave, selfless act was just her doing her job. This is just one of the ways she goes above and beyond each and every day, serving as an outstanding role model – and a lifesaver – for young women and girls.
