Armina Medic, a Bosnian refugee who arrived in Burlington as a teenager with only $24 has dedicated her career to advocating for survivors of sexual violence. As the only Victim Advocate at the Vermont Attorney General’s Office her personal experience with displacement and trauma fuels her empathy and guides her work. For the last 14 years, she has supported survivors across the state, navigating complex legal systems and providing emotional support. Her efforts highlight systemic barriers and raise awareness of the challenges survivors face. Armina’s work demonstrates resilience, strength, and a commitment to justice, turning personal hardship into empowerment for others.
