During her 48 years at Birchwood Terrace Barb has spent much of that time in the memory care unit. During her years there she has seen many changes, but one thing has always been the same, her dedication to her patients. Barb uses her own time and money to create an outdoor activity and garden space for residents to enjoy every Spring and Summer. Feeling that her patients have lost so much due to Alzheimer’s, her goal is to give them back some peace and joy, and spark some memories in the garden that she creates for them. Residents use the space to visit with loved ones or as a safe and tranquil space to enjoy nature.
