Ahead of the release of Halsey’s album, The Great Impersonator, on October 25, the shapeshifting pop star is set to pay tribute to the artists who inspired her new batch of songs. In an Instagram video posted on Monday (October 7), the first installment of Halsey’s The Great Impersonator preview series features her dressed up as the country legend Dolly Parton. Halsey describes her unique album rollout in the caption, “The countdown to The Great Impersonator begins. From now till the album drops on October 25th, I will be impersonating a different icon every day and teasing a snippet of the song they inspired. ⭐️” In the post, Halsey shares a brief clip of her countrified new song, “Hometown,” and reveals that the tune draws inspiration from Parton. As does Halsey’s look in the video, which is a spitting image of Dolly on the album cover of her 1987 record, Rainbow. (Rolling Stone)
