Country stars Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires have filed for divorce after being married for more than a decade.
Isbell filed for divorce from Shires on December 15, two months before the pair would have celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary, according to People.
The documents list the couple’s date of separation as December 3 and cite irreconcilable differences as the reason for the separation.
The couple married in 2013, and they have an eight-year-old daughter. Shires has long been a part-time member of Isbell’s band The 400 Unit, and Isbell played guitar for Shires supergroup The Highwomen.
At last Sunday’s Grammy Awards, Isbell and the 400 Unit won two Grammys, including Best Americana Album for their latest release Weathervanes.
In February 2023, the couple had celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary with positive posts on social media.
However, differences between them had cropped up during the making of Isbell’s 2020 album Reunions. Shires, who also played on the record, has said she felt her input was ignored, and she left their home to live in a motel for a week.
