During Friday’s (October 4) Toronto stop on Jordan DavisDamn Good Time Tour, the country superstar brought out his opening act Mitchell Tenpenny to give the singer a surprise he won’t soon forget. Davis first met Tenpenny back in 2014, only two years after he moved to Nashville, and their careers and friendship both took off from there. After finishing his set, Davis called Tenpenny back to the stage in order to focus on Mitchell’s 10Penny Fund, a foundation dedicated to supporting families affected by cancer.

“What y’all don’t know is that a portion of the ticket sales tonight here in Toronto are going to the 10Penny Fund,” Davis announced, before adding. “It’s not just Toronto. This entire tour, every show we have played, a portion of those tickets are going to your fund to help save lives.” Davis then surprised Tenpenny with a $200,000 check donated to the 10Penny Fund. “Mitchell, I love you, buddy. You deserve every penny of it,” said Davis as the two friends shared an emotional embrace. (All Country News)
