Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, SZA and Billie Eilish were among the big winners at the 2024 Grammys.
Swift made history at this year’s Grammy Awards by becoming the first performer to win the award in Album of the Year category four times.
When Midnights was selected for the award, it marked the pop superstar’s fourth win in the category. Until Sunday, she had been tied with Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, and Paul Simon for the most Album of the Year wins (three each) of any artist at the Grammys.
Swift was shocked as she accepted the award, bringing up her producer Jack Antonoff – who had already won the Grammy for Producer of the Year – and collaborator Lana Del Rey. She acknowledged both in her acceptance speech.
Cyrus won Record of the Year award for her hit “Flowers” and her first ever Golden Gramophone for Best Pop Solo Performance.
“This award is amazing, but I really hope it doesn’t change anything, because my life was beautiful yesterday,” Cyrus said.
“Flowers” was a massive commercial hit, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spending eight consecutive weeks in the top spot.
Eilish won Song of the Year award for “What Was I Made For?” from the Barbie soundtrack.
Eilish had performed the song earlier during the Grammys ceremony. The the song also won the award for Best Song Written for Visual Media.
The most nominated artist at the 66th Grammys with nine, SZA ended up with three wins. “Ghost In The Machine,” featuring Phoebe Bridgers, won the award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. She also won the Best R&B Song (“Snooze”) and Best Progressive R&B Album (SOS) awards.
R&B star Victoria Monet and all-female indie super group Boygenius also won multiple awards.
